Happy Saturday!

Hi all!

Since I promised to try to get back into my routine of stamping and posting, here is a card I did about a week ago for a couple of different male friends. I always have the hardest time with guy cards, I alway feel like they turn out so blah. I cannot make them pretty with flowers and glitter and such.

So here is whatcha get! I used Shapes by Design by PTI, SU paper in Kraft, Mellow Moss and Night of Navy. That is also SU ribbon in Navy. It is a very simple card, but I like it.

Well I am off to watch a movie with my DH, have a great night!

I Have Been Lost, But Now I am Found (Maybe)

Hi All! It has been a super long time since I have had a moment to sit down and blog. I hope to get it back in my routine again. I have been dealing with a lot of family stuff lately, and also my summers are just crazy. I have not even had a lot of time to stamp lately, :(

I will try to get back in the habit...I will try to post some cards soon, please do not give up on me...

Have a wonderful day!!

Time Heals all Wounds...

Hi All!

Sorry I have been MIA lately, but I have been going through some family stuff. My grandpa passed away last weekend (sort of unexpectedly), so needless to say, I have been preoccupied. Although he was a "grumpy old guy", I loved him dearly and am heartbroken that he is gone.

I am blessed to have the recent memories and a few old ones that I have. He went in peace and that is comforting to know. Boy, will I miss him though. I know I will have the opportunity to see him again in Heaven someday, and time heals all wounds, but right now it is pretty tough.

The services are Thursday and Friday this week, so please pray for me and my family as we get through these difficult days ahead.

I LOVE YOU GRANDPA!!

God Bless-
Jolene

Shhh...I am having a Love Affair!

Okay, so my love affair is with Rich Razzleberry paper from SU. Ooohhh, how I love that color! Maybe because it is new, or maybe because it is so vibrant, I am not sure but I do know I am in love...

Here are just a couple of cards I made today which are totally similar. I first did the layout on the bottom card, but wasn't completely sold, so then I changed it up a little and got the top card, I like that one a lot more, what is your favorite?

Anyway the colors are Rich Razzleberry (mwah!), Kiwi Kiss, and Kraft. All SU goodies, except for the pearls...muy bonita!

Get Well Miss Bella

Hey all!

Just thought I would post this card I made earlier today. Our friend Bella, who is six years old, (who I have posted pictures on my blog a few times now) was attacked by a dog this past weekend and is currently at The Children's Hospital. She has been there for a couple of days now as her injury has gotten infected. The poor little gal has got some nasty dog bites on her face near her eye. They had to remove a few of the sutures she got over the weekend because of the infection. She is pretty lucky though because the bites were only about a 1/2 inch from her eye.

She is in high spirits and was excited that we came for a visit and of course brought her some goodies! We hope she recovers fast...We love ya Bella.

Anyway, as you can tell everything is pretty much SU, with a few exceptions of some nesties, stickles, and embellies. Any questions, just ask!

Have a great night, I need to go to bed as it is past my bedtime, LOl!

Great Friend...

To all my great friends out there in blog land...This one's for you!

I hope everyone has enjoyed their holiday weekend (US)! Mine was nice and relaxing for the most part. My DH and I did go ATVing yesterday and got rained on...okay more appropriately, we got drenched! I saw some really pretty wild flowers and I went to take some pictures to possibly use on a card, but the batteries were dead...bummer! We have had a crazy amount of rain for the past 45 days or so, that eveything was green and lush.

Anyway, the above card I whipped out today. I am pretty happy on how it turned out. I even used a stamp set I have not used yet, so that made it more rewarding (you all know what I am talking about, don't ya, LOL). Everything is SU, so if you have questions just ask.

Have a great night and a wonderful week!

It's Independence Day!!!

Happy 4th of July to all my friends and fellow US bloggers! My DH and I are about ready to head to the hills for some ATV therapy. The sky is beautiful (so far), the ATV's are ready, we haven't got a care in world...Yahoo!!!

Although, we do have to be home before all the fireworks and festivities start because my two dogs go absolutely nuts with the loud noises. My DH and I are always home on the 4th evening beccause of this. That's okay though, we do not mind, maybe we will make it a movie night anyway :)

I hope everyone has a great holiday!

PS I hope to get in my stamp room tomorrow...wish me luck! Maybe I will ahve something fun to post too :)

Trendy Trees

Hi Hi!!
Another weekend has come and gone... How come work weeks do not go as fast, lol??
Just thought I would take a quick minute and post a card I made earlier today. It was inspired from one I made at stamp camp yesterday, I will try to post that one sometime too. I sure did love stamp camp yesterday, all the cards were beautiful!!
Anyway, this cutie patootie card was for a friend's birthday party today. All items are SU, if you have any questions, just ask.
Have a great night!! Live well...

In Rememberance of MJ and FF

It breaks my heart to have heard of the news of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett yesterday. May you both be in a better place now, without pain.

The passing of Michael Jackson has truly touched me as being a child of the 80's. I remember singing along to his FAMOUS songs and making up my own dances to them as well. He was truly and icon and the KING OF POP.

Regardless of all the trials and tribulations in his life...he truly was a talented singer and dancer who helped shaped the music world in which we all know.

May you both rest in peace...God Bless...

Weekends go by too fast...

Wow, how time flies on the weekends! My DH and I just got home from another camping trip. This time, we went to the lake. It was fun, but the bugs drove me crazy! Sorry Wendy from Canada, but I forgot to take pictures of our camper...I suck, I know...Maybe next time...I promise I will try.

Anyway, here is the card I made for my step-dad for Father's Day. I CASED the idea from a card we made at stamp camp last weekend. I am excited to say I get to go to stamp camp next weekend too. So much fun and so many ideas!!

Deets: SU CS Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow, and White. DSP is Always Artichoke. Stamp image is from Lovely as a Tree ( an absolute "staple" set). Ribbon is SU from my stash and the brad is from my stash as well.

I hope everyone had/has a wonderful Father's Day!

New Circle Circus!

Hi! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Anything exciting??

Nothing too crazy here. I was so excited to go to stamp camp yesterday. It was fun and really good to see Karen again :) We had 12 different cards to make, so needless to say, we were busy. All the projects were very cute.

Today, my DH and I had a little more ATV therapy up in the mountains. When we came home I got to sneek a few minutes in my craft room. This is the card I created for a girlfriend's birthday. Then the weather got quite nasty, and I lost some of my mojo as the tornado sirens were going off for almost an hour. But all is good... Have a great night!

deets: SU Tempting Turquoise and White CS. New SU set Circle Circus, sentiment is Inkainkadoo. Flowers, ribbon, and bling from my stash.

Tomorrow is Stamp Camp!

As I sit on my couch with my DH watching a movie, I am pondering about samp camp tomorrow. I am really excited to be going again. This is only my 2nd time going because all the past months life got in the way... I am sure how you all know how that is. But I am making up for lost time as I am getting the opportunity to go twice this month...Yippee!

So have a great saturday...if my cards turn out decent, I will try to post some of my favs. I say decent, because I have this mentality that all "these cards" I make at classes and such are just "samples" for me and I tend to get sloppy. But it is still fun to converse and hang out with other wonderful stampers, expecially Karen and Ann from the cruise.

Simple Masculine Card

Happy Sunday Y'all!

Hi there! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was good, but as always, I can't believe it is Sunday evening already. My DH and I had a little ATV therapy again today, but while we were in the mountains is actually started to SNOW on us! I can't believe it, it is June and still snow. Needless to say, I was not expecting it, so of course, I was not prepared and froze my butt off!

Anyway, here is a quickie card I made a week or two ago but just had not posted it yet. I always have a tough time (like many of us) with masculine cards. I got the Papertrey set, Men of Life, on the cruise and it is great for male cards. I used SU Kraft, Always Artichoke, and Very Vanilla. The DSP is SU Manchester, which has great masculoine patterns in it by the way. I also used my build a brad from SU as well. I just added a little clear stardust pen to the brad to add a bit of interest.

I hope you like it...To all you fellow "Cruise Ladies" out there, I challenge you to pulling out one of our many sets we got from PTI, Gina K, or Stamingbella and make a card. Blow the dust off of them ladies...show me what you got :)

Have a great night!!

Finally a card!! Lattebella

Today I finally got a few minutes in my craft room. Just don't look too closely at my floors (should have cleaned them instead of making a card). Oh well though, what's a girl to do?

I received a Stamping Bella order this past week, so needless to say, I was excited to play with a new stamp. I am very pleased how this card turned out. Sometimes as I am creating away, I get lost and it seems a card will never come together, whether it be colors, embellies, or layout, but then it does and voila! I am twitterpaited!

This card is for a close friend's birthday whom I have known for over 25 years...crazy, I know. Any who, the CS is SU Pink Pirouette, Going Gray, and So Saffrom. The pattern CS is SU hostess bundle and I pieced it on her pants as well. I just fancied them up a little with some pink pencil and stardust pen. I colored the image with pencils and mineral spirits and stardust pen for accents. Of course, I used my nesties and SU scallop punch. The ribbon, flowers and baubles were from my stash.

Hope you enjoyed my card..I just love it!

Have a relaxing evening...

ATVing at Pole Hill

Happy Saturday!

My DH and I got up early this morning to go ATVing up in the mountains. We had a lot of fun on a trail brand new to us. We actually attempted to go on this trail last summer but when we got there it was too crowded so this time we decided to get an early start. It worked!! We were the first ones at the trailhead...yippee!

Here is a picture of me on the trail...

Here is a picture of my DH, Val...

This trail is just outside of the town of Estes Park. Here is a picture of Estes Park at one point on the trail. Just a gorgeous view...Life is great!!

Afterwards, we went into Estes Park and had lunch. While we were there, I snapped a quick shot of the famous Stanley Hotel (top picture). This hotel is gorgeous and is widely known for being the location in the classic scary movie "The Shining" with Jack Nicholson.

Anyway, once again, no cards to post, but sometimes a little ATV therapy is just as good :)
Have a great night!!

Happy Campers!

Hi There! Here are a couple of pics from my Memorial Day camping trip that might I say was super rainy and wet!! It was actually a big bummer! The dynamics of the entire trip were changed by the weather. These pics were taken during the only sunny morning. But oh well...I guess a bad weekend camping is still better than the best week at work,LOL.

Anyway, the above pics are of my doggies just chillin' and my goofy husband and our little friend Bella. Enjoy! (don't pay attention to the dates on the pics, as I of course, forgot my camera and we bought one on the way to the campground, and I did not set it up).

Hope to get a card on soon! Bear with me!

I'm Going Camping...I'm Going Camping!!

Happy Tuesday!!

Just a quickie post tonight! Just thought I would share in my joys with you all. I am so excited to be going camping this weekend! My DH and I just recently bought a new camper!! We got a new KZ Spree. Needless to say, this is why I am so excited for my camping trip this weekend. We actually bought it at the end of March, so I have just been itching to get it out and use it...YIPPEE!!! It is right around the corner!

So in case I do not have a moment to post before this weekend, Have a great weekend, and I will be back with pictures to share (if I don't forget my camera) and maybe even picutres of my camper too....

How Cute are These Two?

All I have to say is "OMGOSH!!!!" these two little puppies are just adorable!!! They actually belong to my friend/co-worker, and everyday she brings them into the office and I get to "nanny" them throughout the day while I work. Let's just say my office morale has gone up a zillion percent since I get to play with these little guys. It makes the day so fun!!

Anyway, I had the opportunity to bring them home with me tonight for a sleepover too! My two dogs aren't sure what to think...It is kind of like an elephant being afraid of a little mouse syndrome...but they get use to it. Hopefully, I will get more opportunities for sleepovers in the future too...it is so much fun.

As you can tell in the pictures just how tiny they are. The dark one is "Pepito" and the lighter one is "Lucy." In the one picture there is a DVD for scale purposes.

Have a fun night...you know I will, LOL!

Busy as a Bee...

Hi All!!

Just a quickie post tonight as I am one busy bee! My DH and I went to Indiana this past weekend to visit my BFF, Dani, and her family. We had a good time, but boy did time fly by! Now that I am home, I need to try to get back into my routine. Work was of course crazy as it always is after a vacation, but oh well. Back to chores at home...

Have a great week...Yippee, it is Hump Day and the weather is beautiful here...,hope it is for you too.

B is for Birthday

Happy Sunday!! I hope everyone's weekend went well. For the most part, all is well on my little piece of earth. It is just too bad that tomorrow is Monday and back to work I go...

The above card I made earlier today. I used SU Only Orange, Green Galore, and Yo-yo yellow. The stamp set is Just B. I used Labels 4 from Nesties, and all the other embellies were from my stash. My inspiration for the colors was from the yummy ribbon I used. I love to start a card with one piece of inspiration and I love to see how it all comes together, don't you?

Have a great night!

Here Comes the Sun...

Well Happy Sunday All! After a few days of winter again with snow and rain...the sun is out today!! For a minute I was beginning to think I lived in the Northwest. But am I happy to be in sunny Colorado enjoying spring. It rained at our house for 3 days straight, while my mom got over a foot of wet snow and she only lives an hour away...

Anyway, I whipped out this little card earlier today. I used SU Bliss Blue (retired), Basic Black, and Going Gray. The images are from Fifth Avenue Floral and the sentiment is from Warm Words. The cutsey flowers (layered) are from my stash, and so is the ribbon and brads.

I am very pleased that I got a few moments back in my groove in my stamp room this weekend. It always puts a sile on my face...even when it is raining, LOL...Have a great night!

Stamp Camp Cancelled!

What is the world coming to when Stamp Camp's are cancelled? Due to the lovely spring storm we are having in Colorado, my Stamp Camp for today has been cancelled....BOO-HOO!

Well, since I am inside today, maybe, just maybe, I will have to get in my stamp room and try to conjure up my mojo another way...wish me luck!

I hope everyone has a great Saturday...

I'm Alive and well!!

Happy Thursday Everyone!!

I know you all have been wondering just where the heck I have been, and really the only good answers I have are: Busy, and NO card mojo lately. I am not sure why I am in such a funk but hopefully I will bounce out of it soon :)

I go to stamp camp this Saturday again so maybe that time will help me...

I did however make a couple of cards last weekend for some birthdays. This one I made for my wonderful friend, KIM MARIE and my wonderful cousin Julie. I used SU Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze. The DSP is Urban Garden (love that set), ribbon is Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla and the image is from Kindred Spirits. The sentiment is from H and M Stamps and the baubles are Bellas.

Have a great night!

Life Gets in The Way

Hi All!

I am so behind on blogging, I do not even know where to begin! I feel as though I have abandoned everyone. But that is not the case...it just seems as though life has gotten in the way. Do you ever feel that way?

I am behind on following all your wonderful blogs as well. I will try to catch up soon. Please do not give up on me...I will try to get more grounded soon. My DH and I are just busy these days and never take a breath. It is just a sneak peek to summer for us...because we NEVER get a break in the summer it seems...we are always on the go!

I hope all is great with everyone...and I hope to be back soon...hopefully post a card this weekend...I haven't even been stamping, OMG, what is my life coming to????

Colorado Stampers Challenge #2

Here is the 2nd installment of the Colorado Stampers Challenge. This time the challenge was to use Pacific Point, Real Red, Pink Pirouette, and Whisper White.

Here is my take:

This card was super simple and easy, but still it is cute. The sentiment is from SU Define Your Life, and the small border is from Inkainkadoo. The embellies are just from my stash.

Anyway, we are pretty much recovered from the snow storm last week, thanks to great weekend weather!! I just wish summer was already here as we got a little more snow this morning and the forecast calls for more this week. I will just hang in there, and hopefully use the time to stamp as with summer we are always 'on the go'.

Have a wonderful night!

Baby Shower Cards

This is just a quick post this morning as I have a lot of shoveling to do today! We finally got a hit of winter in Colorado yesterday. We had a light blizzard yesterday, and at my house we probably got around 14 inches of snow. YUCK! But we had such a mild winter we really need the moisture...so oh well, I will deal.

Here is the card I made for my sister's friends's baby shower. They turned out to be more time consuming than I originally thought. Lots of different layers, and although I only made 25, they just seemed to have taken forever, where I feel that I have neglected all my other goodies in my craft room. I actually just got a BIG SU order a couple of weeks ago and haven't played with any of it!!

If you want any of the deets on this card just let me know, as my snow shovel is calling me. Have a great Friday!

Uurrggghhh!

Hi all!

I had every intention of posting a picture both last night and now tonight, but I am sooooo frustrated!! I waste sooooo much time trying to upload pictures on this blogger. I am not sure what the trouble is, but EVERY time I download a picture it "cuts off" half the pic or changes the color or blurs the photo. When I just look at the picture on my computer and camera it is fine. I am not sure where in the downloading process it gets all jumbled.

Anyway, I am tired of trying again tonight. I have tried downloading the same 2 pictures about 10 times with no luck...ANY SUGGESTIONS???

Well, off the computer for me tonight...I guess I will try again tomorrow...

Have a great night!!

New Camper!!

Hi All! Just a quick update! Sorry I have been so MIA lately, but I confess I have a little of the OCD syndrome. My Dh and I have decided to start looking for a new camper...YIPPEE!!! So I have been totally consumed by this. Everyday I either go look at a dealer or two, or at night I am constantly looking at different ones online, I even haven't been sleeping to well over this...It is so bad, but my life is revolving around shopping for a new camper right now. I look at this way...I am doing MY part to help jumpstart the US economy, lol. Anyway, we may have found the one we want...so hopefully I will be back to posting more often soon...

I will keep you updated and will hopefully have pics soon...Have a great Thursday!!

Oh, How Time Flies! & 1st Colorado Stamping Challenge

Oh my goodness, where does the time go? I cannot believe I have not posted on my blog in a week! What the heck is wrong with me? No really, I am sorry but I have been so busy...I just do not know where the time goes. I barely even stamped this weekend...boo hoo. I am actually working on some Baby Shower invites for my sister's close friend...I will post them hopefully in a day or two. I also received a big SU order this week, I am twitterpated, but I have not even had a chance to play with all my new goodies...What is a girl to do?

Anyway, I am part or a new group from Colorado. It is a stamping challenge group similar to my lovely LSC friends. I do not think we have even finalized on a name yet...but anyhow, I first challenge was due today. It was an inspiration challenge using a photo Stephanie found at Pottery barn. Isn't it pretty?

Well, here is my take on it. What do you think? I used SU Baja Breeze, Old Olive, So Saffron, Ruby Red, and Very Vanilla. The images are from Inkainkadoo (sp?). I distressed the edges of the top two layers and pop dotted them for interest. The large brad and small one are from my stash. I am pleased on how the card turned out. Even though I stapped out of my norm and actually did not do something with a flower...that is a rare occasion for me, lol.

Well, have a great night an d wonderful week. I hope to post more this week!

LSC # 30

Good Evening!

Here is my take for LSC #30. The LSC ladies challenge was to use butterflies. All I have to say is YUMMY, doesn't that mean spring is on the way!! The colors are SU Wild Wasabi and Lovely Lilac. The DSP is SU and the stamps are from Flight of the Butterfly. Sorry, but in the picture the ribbon looks wavy, but rest asure it is straight, I don't know what the pic did.

Anyway, back to the daily grind tomorrow...yippee! Have a great week!

RV and Boat show!!

Hi All!

Happy Friday to one and all! Just a quick post tonight as I am tired and ready to slumber in dream land...

Hope everyone has a great weekend planned. My DH and I and a couple of friends ventured out tonight to the annual RV and Boat Show in Denver. I love going to those and peeking my head in all the crazy big and beautiful RV's. Who are people kidding though, those things are NOT for CAMPING!! It is like staying in a 5 star hotel...but I guess that wouldn't be so bad, *giggle*. I will say though, when I go camping the LAST thing I want to do is watch TV! I will continue to go camping in our no frills (not even a bathroom) little pop-up camper and enjoy it as much as the next guy...

Anyway, I will quit rambling now, we had fun...

Happy Tuesday!

Good Evening! I hope everyone's week is going well. The weather here in Colorado is beautiful this week. I think it got to 75 degrees today...that is crazy!!! Boy, am I ready for summer and this weather is such a tease...

Well, this card I made for my mom for her Birthday which was today! I already have this card posted over at Stamp TV but thought why not post it here also. The deets are SU paper in Certainly Celery, Old Olive, White and DSP Berry Bliss. The image is from Peaceful Wishes (I know a Christmas set...I am out of control...) and the sentiment is SU also but I don't have the name off hand. The baubles are Stamping bella and the ribbon and flower are out of my stash. Lastly, I (of course) used my nesties for the ovals.

Anywhoo (is that a word, lol?) have a great night...I will hopefully post again tomorrow...if not Happy Hump Day!

My First Stamp Camp!!

OMGosh!!! I went to my first stamp camp today in my area, and all I have to say is YIPPEE!!! It was a blast! Thanks to my "new" cruise friends, Karen and Ann, for inviting me...I had so much fun, plus it was great to see these wonderful ladies again for the first time since our great cruise last October. I can't wait to go to the next Stamp Camp in a couple of weeks.

Anyway, here is a quickie post for a card I made last weekend too. I know, I know, I say I am going to post more during the week but life always gets in the way and I get too busy...

I CASED this card from the new SU catty. I used the Garden greetings set and SU CS Cameo Coral, DSP So Saffron, and Baja Breeze ribbon. The Scallop circle is a nestie, the baubles are Stamping Bella and the tag is Making Memories. This card is for my niece's b-day this week.

Have a great night and wondeful Sunday! I hope to spend a good amount of time in my Stamp room :) :)

Thumpidity Thump Thump

Happy Hump Day!

Just thought I would post another quickie post on a card I made this past weekend. This was actually the first one I made with the Thumping technique over at Stamp Tv. I don't have much time for deets but the Stamp Images and paper are SU with exception of the white is Gina K's pure luxury CS. I used SU markers and the DSP is from my stash.

For my first Thumping job, I am very pleased with this card!

Have a great night!!

Make Life Big!

Happy Sunday! What a nice and relaxing day it is! Hope everyone is enjoying their day and weekend.

I had so much fun spending time in my stamp room this weekend. I had an opportunity to spend a little time in there Friday, Saturday, and today! How fun it is!!

The above card I made yesterday using Gina K's Thumping technique she taught on her new Stamp TV.com...congrats to her!!! Anyway, I absolutely love thumping and you will see many more cards with that tecnique I am sure of this. This card uses SU Not Quite Navy, Always Artichoke, and Mellow Moss. I used SU stamp set Best Regards. The DP is some I had in my stash. The ribbon is SU Navy, and the metal accents are 7Gypsies.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to post more of what I made this weekend in the upcoming days.

LSC #28

Hi Ladies!

Today is Friday and thst means another LSC challenge. I am once again going to join in their fun and do the challenge as well. This week's challenge was to use Kraft and a shade of Pink, and get this, NO ribbon! Sometimes I wonder if these ladies are crazy!! It is so hard to not use ribbon on a card, sometimes it makes the finishing touch.
Here is my creation:

I actually made this card for my childhood friend's daughter. It is her first birthday next week. I think it turned out cute! The deets are SU Pretty in Pink, Kraft, Chocolate Chip and White. The image and sentiment are also SU, as is the DSP. I added a few eyelets and some pink bling for a finishing touch.

Thanks ladies for another great challenge!

Loopy Flower

Good Evening!

Sorry I have been MIA so much lately, but it seems as though when the week winds down and the weekend is upon me, I have either been busy, busy, busy or unfortunately fighting some kind of ailment. I know, Jolene, quit complaining and just get on with it...Needless to say, I have been lacking in the ol' stamp room, boo-hoo! I hope to have some free time this weekend and hopefully not be sick either!

Anyway, I thought I would at least post a card I made in Indy with Dani last month. This was actually a B-day card for my new friend, Wendy whom I met on the cruise. Anyway, I made a few of these and each was a little different.

The quick deets on this card is SU CS, DSP and ribbon by The Paper Studio, and best of all the adorable stamp is Stampingbella and the baubles too. Oh, I also colored the image with SU markers and Stickles.

Have a great night and week!

Dog Sitting & Whoo Hoo!

Happy Thursday to everyone. I hope everyone is having a good week, and has a wonderful weekend planned. Anything special plans for Valentines?

Well, my cousin and her DH and DD are in Thailand for 3 weeks on vacation and I have been lucky enough to have her beagle, Chip, as a guest in my home. He is a very sweet dog. However, my two doggies and him are not the best of friends...they all tolerate each other. He has been with us for a week and now tomorrow he goes to my aunts home. It is bittersweet...he is so sweet and cute, but that beagle howl is enough to drive me crazy! I am happy to have Bassets.

Anyway, here is a quick card I whipped together for my BIL's b-day this past week. It is very simple but I think it is so cute. Owls are big in stamping these days, so I was excited when I remembered I had this stamp in one of my SU sets (a set that I had never used...boo-hoo, I have too many of those sets...yikes...don't tell my DH).

The deets are SU paper Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, and white. SU scallop border punch, Bazzill ribbon, Bella's dots, and Stickles. I colored the image with pencils and mineral spirits (shocker!), and another shocker! the CB folder!

Have a great evening, I hope to post more soon.

Hey Chicky!

Happy Sunday to everyone!

I have had every intention of posting some cards this past week, with no luck! I have either been too busy, or blogger was going too slow, or worst yet, I took a nasty fall down the stairs at my home on Wednesday and banged up my right arm pretty good. Besides some big nasty bruises and some sore muscles I am actually doing good now. I am lucky I did not break any bones...yikes!

Anyway, here is a quick little card I made for Dani's little girl's b-day. She turned 3 on Friday!

The deets are SU Yo Yo Yellow, Pumpkin Pie paper and Gina K's pure luxury white 120 #. The stamp is H and M Stamps. The ribbon is SU, and of course CB folder. I colored the image with pencils and the mineral spirits.

I hope everyone has a great Sunday. I cannot decide if I want to spend some time in my craft room (of course, I WANT to), but I may just be lazy and watch movies too...Hmmmm???

Superbowl and LSC #25

Happy Superbowl Sunday All!!

I am sitting in my living room with my DH, my BIL, and niece watching/listening to the half time show with Bruce Springsteen. I love the 80's!!

Anyway, the past couple of days I spent most the time in bed fighting a horrible cold. I have been absolutely miserable. But today I am starting to feel a little better. So I finally did a little (I mean little) cleaning today and of course made a couple of cards. I will try to post them throughout the week, but tonight I will post my LSC challenge one.
This weeks colors (my version anyway) were Chocolate Chip, Pink Passion, So Saffron, and Perfect Plum. Boy, this was an extremely tough challenge for me. I would like to blame it on my cold and my meds, ha ha, but really, I just had no mojo for this week's color combo. So bear with me, as this is obviously not my finest work...
Well have a great evening and I will post more soon...

I've Been Tagged!

Karen from http://6wackywomen.blogspot.com/ has tagged me! So I am now to go into my picture folder on my computer and go to the 6th folder and choose the 6th picture and write about it.

Here we go:

I will first say that I had to cheat a little. My computer is fairly new and I have not really downloaded any pictures on it yet. So I have an SD card always in my computer so I chose the 6th picture on it. Forgive me...

Anyway, This is a picture of my girlfriend's husband on a amusement ride in Las Vegas. Remember when I went in December? Well here is one of those pics. Mike was actually on the ride with his 10 year old son, Michael, but somehow Mike is the only one in this pic. We all had such a good time!!

Now I get to have some fun and pick 5 peeps to "Tag" as well.

LSC #23 & #24

Okay ladies I said I was on the prowl so here are my LSC's for the past two weeks. I have had them done since Friday, but have not founnd a single moment to sit done and post them. I have been on the go all weekend it seems.
The first one is LSC#23 which was to use the colors Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Passion (my version) and White. What do you think?

The deets on this one is SU Upsy Daisy set for the daisy image and the sentiment. Inkainkado for the butterfly and the little flourishes. I CB'd the chocolate BG. I also used a nestibilities for the white pieces for a little more character. I added a little pink flower with a brad for dimension and Bazzill ribbon as well. I am pretty happy with it. As I was using this color combo I was struggling, but it came together quite well in the end.

The LSC #24 challenge was to use BLING! This card is actually the Valentine's card I made for my DH. I think it qualifies.

I used acetate as the card overlaying SU silver paper which is slightly smaller then the acetate. The heart and branch image is SU on Shimmer paper from The Paper Company. The 'Love" is from my Cricut. The ribbon is PTI and I added some clear and black rhinestones for bling (of course).

Well, off to make dinner I go, have great evening!

I'm Back!!!

Hi All!

I am back!! Yes, I have been back home for almost a week now, but I have been still trying to get back into my routine so I have been slacking on the posting. I am sorry, and I hope to get better. I will probably never be so good that I post daily, but I am trying, lol.

Anyway, here is a card I whipped together before my vacation and just never got around to posting.

It was very simple and quick. The colors are SU Basic Black, Real Red, and white. The DP is some from my collection, and I just added a silk flower some ribbom and bling. The little red flowers on the DP are stamped on BTW.
Okay, my goal is to spend some quality time in the ol' craft room tomorrow and/or saturday so I will post more soon.
Watch out LSC ladies, I am on the prowl and promise to do the challenge this week!!! Have a wonderful evening!

Oh, How Time Flies

Good Evening!

I am now home safe and sound from my wonderful trip to visit Dani. We had a really good time, but wow it goes so fast! It always seemed we never got to sit down for too long let alone post anything on our blogs.

Thanks to everyone who left us a comment, we love to read those. It made us think of you all.

I am now going to try to get back in my normal routine and post more again. I am going to try to join in the LSC challenges too, sorry ladies. I am going to try to do more SCS challenges and others as well.

I will try to post pictures of a few of the cards I made while I was in Indiana. Believe it or not, we did not even take a single picture while I was visiting. Not even one of her kiddos. We suck!!

So bear with me and I hope you all have a great week!

Dani & Jolene

Hi all!

Dani and I are having a great time in SNOWY Indiana! I think it was suppose to be warmer in Denver all week and I am here...but oh well! (Actually, I guess it is quite horrible in Denver today).

Dani and my goal today is to spend time in her craft room making a few cards. By 'few' I mean hopefully more than one, lol. Anyway, have a great Monday, and maybe we will have something to post later....

Indiana Bound, Yippee!!

Good evening! I am now Indiana bound and so excited. Work could not go fast enough for me today. It seemed like it took forever. I still have some packing to do and other stuff tonight so this will have to be a quickie post. I wanted to post a card though.

Bellas are so fun to stamp with. I used SU Old Olive and Wintergreen DSP. I used my oval nestabilities and some stickles. The ribbon is also SU and the sentiment is MFT. Lastly, I used the mineral spirits tecnique from the cruise for my Bella.

Before I say goodnight, Char and Wendy, I still want to do the LSC challenge tomorrow, but with traveling and spending time with Dani and the kids bear with me. I will try to get r' done soon though!
Goodnight!!

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Hello!

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a great week. I feel like I am always on the go and can't find a moment to just real so far this week.

I am so excited that on Friday I am going to visit my BFF, Dani, in Indiana for a week. We will have so much fun together. I can't wait to see the kiddos and the pups either. Our goal is to organize her craft room, do a couple of swaps (one on SCS, the other with our cruise friends), and I am sure there are 10,000 other things we hope to do as well!

So needless to say, I have been busy all week and probably will be until I leave. Buy I just wanted to post a quick card tonight. Isn't it so cute?

I used SU Green Galore, white, and a Bazzill Bling in Pomegranate. I, of course, used the CB for the background. The image is SU from one of the stem sets and the sentiment is the disco'd 'Hi and Hello' set. The color of the stamped images is SU Rose Red and I used Dazzling Diamonds on the stem. I added some cute polk dot ribbon that I had too. This card was so quick to make, but I love the simple chic look.

Before I say goodnight, I just wanted to let you know how excited I was to receive this award . I am really getting into to this crazy blogging world, and was twitterpated to get this!!!

Thank you so much KAREN at http://6wackywomen.blogspot.com/ for such a great honor. And I must say, your blog is absolutely fabulous as well!!

SCS Challenge

This is my first SCS challenge. I did the 'Ways to Use it' challenge #WT199, Ringing in the New Year. Since I had so much fun doing the LSC the other day, I have decided to try to do more challenges this year. This is actually one of my New Year's Resolutions. I figure it is a great way to use some of my supplies that I do not typically "grab" for when I am creating.

Anyway, this challenge was to simply incorporate SILVER into a card. So I thought, how fun is that?

Talk about using supplies I don't usually use, I actually used my cricut for this card (2009). I am so bad about utilizing this tool, so Iwas excited about this. My color scheme is SU Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, and SU Brushed Silver. I absolutely LOVE this color combo. The stamp is from Hero Arts. I added some bling with silver stickles (hard to see) and the 'cheers' emblem is from Joann's. I topped of the card with some silver ribbon I got as a 'steal' from Michael's, as I paid .30 cents a roll on clearance. I just wish i would have bought more!

I hope you enjoy my first SCS challenge. I am actually going to mail it out tomorrow as a SCS RAK. Have a great evening!

LSC #21

Hi All! I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful New Year's. Mine was nice and relaxing. I am not one to "ring in the new year", so we had fun at home with a couple of friends, dinner, card games, and some Jeff Dunham...what could be better?

Anyway, I have had the opportunity to follow some amazing Blogs for a few months now, the Loonie Stampers Challenge girls, and their stuff is sooooo fun and inspiring. So I have decided to try to do their weekly color/sketch challenges. I hear they love it when others join in, so why not? What a fun New Year's resolution...besides it forces me to get in my craft room!

This weeks challenge was to use the colors Pure Poppy, Spring Moss, Spring Rain, and Sweet Blush. I used the SU version of each, Riding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze and Pink Pirouette. These colors were quite fun! Hope you enjoy my creation!

I used SU sets, Polka-dot Poisies and Petal Pushers. I also used SU DSP Hawaii Papaya. I embellished with some ribbon, flower tab, and little silver studs. The blue label says "live it up" (sorry about the glare). After I was all done though, looking back I wish I would have CB'd the baja color w/swiss dots, oh well maybe next time!

Thanks ladies, this was fun!
